Floor-Mounted Pallet Conveyor – Optimize High-Throughput Pallet Staging
Staging & Picking Flows Smoothly with Floor-Mounted Pallet Conveyor
Every warehouse, fulfillment center, shipping hub, and manufacturing area must strike a balance between storage efficiency and product readiness and availability. When you need a way to organize a high density of goods for dock staging, floor-mounted pallet conveyor can be a prime option.
Floor mounted pallet conveyor is configured as individual flow lanes that can be mounted on a slight incline to take advantage of gravity to flow the pallets or flush to the ground for push-assisted operation.
Benefits of Floor-Mounted Pallet Conveyor
- Eliminates bulk staking – manual indexing frees up forklifts, improves safety
- Increases dock safety – reduces forklift traffic
- Optimizes dock area space – achieve maximum efficiency
- Maintains FIFO inventory rotation – supports date-sensitive and perishable items
- Improves loading dock function – speed & accuracy
- Achieves 5S of the dock area – neat and orderly pallet storage and staging
Are You Going My Way?
Floor mounted pallet conveyor is comparatively more efficient and organized than bulk stacking. The first benefit is that you save your forklift operator time and equipment expense searching the bulk stack area for the right pallet. With gravity conveyor, the lanes keep inventory orderly and support First-In/First-Out (FIFO) inventory rotation. Additionally, you can designate your lanes in whatever way meets your processing needs, i.e., assigned by dock door, destination, etc.
Floor-mounted pallet conveyor also helps decrease floor traffic and congestion, which improves warehouse safety. Flow lanes are built of durable materials to accommodate heavy pallet loads and can be customized for your operational needs.
Common Applications:
- Finished goods and shipping staging
- Inventory shipping and receiving
- Filling and emptying pallets
- Case picking and fulfillment
- Assembly and manufacturing
Floor-mounted pallet conveyor lanes are built using durable wheeled rails, full-width roller, or roller tracks, depending on inventory and pallet specs. Conveyors can be designed for pallet jack access or forklift access.
Two Types of Floor-Mounted Pallet Conveyor
There are two primary types of floor-mounted pallet conveyor configurations. Rails of these systems are either mounted on an incline and fed through gravity or mounted flush with the ground for push-assisted:
- Push-Assisted Systems – In these systems, pallets are easily pushed by hand along the pallet flow lanes. A benefit of this configuration is that it easily allows you to change the direction of your inventory flow. The same lanes can be used for inbound receiving or outbound shipping, which can benefit shift operations.
- Gravity-Fed Systems – Mounted on a slight incline, the gravity-fed design requires less dedicated labor to advance pallets down the flow lane.
Both system designs are easily cleaned and relatively low maintenance. No batteries or wiring are required to use these gravity-fed lanes.
