Configuring Ball Transfer and Caster Decks
Most ball transfer mat applications require special sizes to fit into the desired location. The pre-welded sections arrive from the factory ready to install to the desired configuration. Each order is built to size and can later be removed and reconfigured if needs change. Any pallet can be accommodated even if the bottom is not flat with the use of captive pallets. Captive pallets provide a flat surface to convey on the ball transfers embedded in the deck. In most applications, protective warehouse guardrail is installed around the perimeter of the new deck floor to prevent falls and forklift traffic from damaging the floor.
Special applications include pallet jack entry points for pallet pick up and drop off, forklift protection in load areas, removable stops to keep pallets in place, and multiple ball center choices for various weights and pallet designs. A special heavy-duty kick plate is included around the perimeter to prevent loads from rolling off the ball mat. Fiberglass and galvanized decking along with caster or ball transfers are available options depending on the application.
